How is the filtering efficiency of medical masks?

- Jul 18, 2018 -

In everyday life, we often choose to wear masks because the increasingly serious environmental problems have plagued us, and we have to wear a mask for a healthy body and a better life. As we all know, masks are different according to the different places they use, and the mask can be divided into gauze mask, medical mask, disposable mask and so on. All these are used as dust and bacteria in the filter air. So how is the filtering efficiency of the medical mask? Let's get to know the next one.

As an important protective equipment, medical masks are complicated, the scope of application and the protection performance are different, including medical respirators, medical surgical masks and ordinary medical masks. In 2005, the regulations on the treatment of acute respiratory fever issued by the Ministry of health require doctors to provide a disposable surgical mask for patients with respiratory symptoms (nasal congestion, cough, etc.) and acute respiratory fever to avoid cross infection. Medical protective masks are required for standard protective measures. However, it is worrying that some domestic medical masks can not play a very good protective role because of the standard and quality technology, and the protective effects of different types of medical masks are different. For example, the protective efficiency of the domestic medical nonwoven mask for the small particles of gas soluble glue is only 20%, and the common 12 layers of yarn are used. The filter efficiency of the cloth mask is only 11% ~ 15%, which can not prevent the infiltration of artificial blood, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli F2; the filtration efficiency of the activated carbon filter mask is 11% ~ 17%, which can not prevent the infiltration of artificial blood, but can obstruct the infiltration of Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli F2 phage.
